Writing my album thank yous and I’m realizing I need novel sized liners to fit all the gratitude I have towards everyone involved with The Soft Glow of Electric Sex! I’m SO blessed to have such brilliant minds and creative hearts be a part of this project! It’s astounding how generous people were with their talents! I love and appreciate you all so much!

* the honesty- there is a beautiful comfort level that allows us to communicate in truth- for example, when bryan said, “if we cover ‘gracias a la vida’ this way i’m going to f*cking kill myself” i so appreciated him speaking his truth! yes it’s hardcore but it’s real and i value that. honesty is caring.
*they actually asked to rehearse more!!!!! yes! i’m not kidding! (thank you alberto) what an incredible dedication to our growth!
*they have all played with superstar artists and LEGENDS…. performed at famous venues like carnegie hall, madison square garden, hollywood bowl, the greek, staples center, etc. etc. and they never make me feel like i am less than they are. in fact they encourage me and my growth and even sometimes compliment me! wow!
*when my dough is a little short they have accepted payments of my homemade food, love, and verbal gratitude. and they trust that when i make millions they are getting theirs! 
*at some point and time they have all seen me cry (i’m a pisces, latina, female, artist – come on now!) and they always give me love and have my back if anyone tries to mess with me (thank u again mr. velasco) and believe in the beauty of my dreams (especially you de sant’anna)
*i truly believe in all of them! they are so beyond gifted that i want the BEST for them. i want them to fulfill every single musical aspiration and inspiration and more.
*they are multi-talented. not only have they mastered their main instrument, they play other instruments and they write and mix and engineer and produce. and they do them all well. it’s kind of crazy.
*they all have brilliant minds and creative hearts. they are musically fearless- not afraid to try new things, explore the songs in different realms. they hold it down. they give me this ridiculous foundation on which to elevate the crowd from- it’s powerful!
just wanted to send y’all a love note. i’m forever grateful for all you teach me and all that you share with me. you’ve all helped me grow so much. i love that you are a part of my journey and there’s nothing i wouldn’t do for you all! can’t wait for the world tour!

We can only see so much from where we sit in our particular bodies, in the midst of our particular lives, rooted as we are in the continuum of space and time. The divine, on the other hand, is not limited to the constructs of either space or time, and its wisdom and workings often elude us as we try to make sense of what is happening in our lives. This is why things are not always what they seem to be and even the best-laid plans are sometimes overturned. Even when we feel we have been guided by our intuition every step of the way, we may find ourselves facing unexpected loss and disappointment. At times like these, we can find some solace in trusting that no matter how bad or just plain inexplicable things look from our perspective, they are, in fact, in divine order.
Even as we take our places in this earthly realm, a part of us remains completely free of the confines we face here. Regardless of what is happening in our lives, this part of us remains infused with joy and gratitude, connected to the unbroken source from which we come. Our small self, on the other hand, who is caught up in our false identity as a being limited in space and time, regards happiness as the result of things going the way it wants them to go. It is this part of us that suffers the greatest confusion and upset when the logic of events does not compute. And it is to this self that we must extend unconditional love, forgiveness, and compassion. In order to do this, we tap into our inner divinity, holding the space of a tender authority, extending love and light to our ego as a mother extends her love to a troubled child.
There are many ways to access our inner divinity—meditation, prayer, chanting, channeling, and conscious breathing, to name a few. It is helpful to develop a regular practice that provides us access to this all-powerful, healing presence, as it can be difficult to reach once we are in a stressful position, if we have not already established a connection. The more connected we are with this part of ourselves, the more we share its unlimited vision and the secure, knowing that all the things of our life, no matter how they appear, are in a state of divine and perfect order.

What you feel, you manifest. If you want joy, be joyful. If you want love, be loving. If you want abundance, give abundantly, receive gratefully and recognize the abundance you already have.
Recognize there is plenty for everyone. Bless others’ success, knowing it is your success. Be inspired by what others have created, knowing you have the absolute power to create your own success and abundance too.
If you have been masterful at manifesting what you don’t want…shift your attention… and become masterful at manifesting what you DO want.
Don’t settle… it’s like saying you don’t trust the abundance of the universe.
Amazing how we cling to the known, to what is familiar. We may be bored, we may hate it, but we stay and wonder why our entire lives and everything we attract seems to get smaller and smaller, less and less. The solution is simple. Jump. Jump into the gorgeous unknown. The unknown is where the magic of our destiny lies.
Complete and let go of the past. Where do you have unfinished business? When we complete the past we free up powerful creative energy that can go to work on our behalf to manifest our dreams.
When we surrender we trust that all is working out for our highest good. When we surrender, we say; ‘Give me an experience of the unknown…. give me something beautiful… that I could never have known. We keep ourselves in tight little boxes of sameness, the very little boxes we are actually trying to break out of!!!!!!
Get out of the ‘how’ – how is it going to work. how am am i going to get money, how could it happen for me, how how how… and place your attention on having what you love-speak it, feel it, think it, give it, take action, and see yourself having it with ease, grace and abundance. Let the universe and God work out the ‘how’ in brilliant, perfect ways.
Think of something that flows to you naturally. something that you are good at attracting. you don’t think twice about attracting it into your life because you know you do it easily, right? apply that approach to everything in your life and receive it all with ease.
Steps to manifesting!
1. Give voice to your dreams. Set your intentions.
2. Write down your goals. Affirm in advance that you already have them. Yes!
3. Thank the universe, in advance, for what you are manifesting.
4. Expect to be delighted! Be in the feeling of what you want to receive. (By being in the feeling you’re aligning energetically with what you desire to manifest).
5. Speak your goals with excitement and joy as if they are already in motion. Keep them fresh in your consciousness daily.
6. Take action on your dreams. Step out of your comfort zone.
7. Trust. Trust is the bridge between your asking and its manifestation.
8. Surrender and let go. Release what is no longer right for you.
9. Say yes! yes! yes! to your dreams and to who you are!
We are becoming masters of manifestation; Olympians of thought, word, and action. That means, in the face of circumstances that are less than ideal, we remain unmoved. We notice and accept them, but we do not dwell on them. We choose, instead to affirm our abundance. We give energy, appreciation and gratitude to the abundance and love we already have and to the opulent life unfolding.

Reflecting back on the album release show I feel truly elated! It was one of the best nights of my life… It exceeded my expectations of what the show would be… The room was filled with so much love. It was like I was getting married! Seriously, my cheeks hurt from smiling! The band sounded incredible- we had only had 2 rehearsal and I had only run through the set with them twice on the day before the show. As my girl Aneesah says, “it wasn’t perfect but it was real.” And not only was it authentic- the performance was elevated- I felt fully committed to everything on stage. I even verbalized my intention to the audience, that I was going to give them love and inspiration… And they gave that beautiful energy in return. This was my first “real” show with songs I’ve created (with Dre) and my first time really leading a band. And I felt so at home… Having my NC girls and my mom there made the night even more special- their energy, their (loud) voices 
, enthusiasm and their dance moves definitely helped to ground me… And I absolutely adore the guys in the band (you can read more about each one of them in the interview blogs.) … they are like family- the connection is deep… And as my friend Quetzal says, “you can’t pay people to care” and they care deeply…I’m ready to go on tour with all of them! What also meant so much is that people I admire so much musically said that they loved my voice live even more than on the album (which they thought was great as well)! What an honor! After the crowd started dying down, my girl Oshana bought a bottle of champagne and we got down on the dance floor! I really can’t find words to express this night… Thinking of all I went through to get this point…. the fear and doubts I had to overcome, the many many sacrifices, staying focused, staying positive, staying strong, staying motivated, enjoying the process of creation and recording, avoiding the disbelievers and the plastics, and learning to believe in myself… It was such a incredible journey in which I encountered my darkness and my light. I grew so much from bringing the album officially into the world- it was a dream come true…. I’m so so grateful! I’m so excited for what’s to come!
yesterday i tried an experiment with my dance class… before we started warming up i asked the kids to share with everyone something they were grateful for… they were surprised… i think some of them had not been asked this before…their answers were beautiful- they were grateful for their mom, their little brother or sister, their pet rabbit, their teachers… a little gordito was thankful for the pancakes he ate for breakfast…one boy was grateful for the sign language book his sister got for him so he can learn to sign… this exercise total changed the energy of the room and of our class…. they were happier, more focused, open and giving…
i know that when i’m down i really attempt to remember all the blessings in my life- even if it’s just my breath… i start with the breath and then expand… and even when i’m not down it’s a lovely exercise to focus on all that we are grateful for (even if we only have a moment-it stays with us)… there’s something uplifting energetically in the frequency of gratitude…
today, i am incredibly grateful for my beautiful mother who has such an angelic heart, my musical soul mate Dre (who is so focused on making our project unfold perfectly), my amazing friends Aneesah, Noelle, Jered, Carla, Oshana, and Mimi who have truly been there for me when i was a mess lately with their words, affection, time and advice…i’m grateful for my computer allowing me to connect with so many incredible people. i’m grateful for the infinite possibilities of life… oh and the avocado wrap i just ate. que rico! and i’m grateful you are taking the time to read my blog… what are u grateful for? please share! sending u love love love….
